Imphal: Assam Rifles personnel foiled cross border smuggling of narcotics at Govajang, Moreh on Thursday and seized narcotics worth about Rs 2.52 Crores.
Assam Rifles official said troops of Assam Rifles intercepted an individual riding a bike at Mobile Vehicle Check Post, Govajang. On thorough search 1.260 Kgs of Brown Sugar packed in 30 soap cases concealed inside a bamboo basket were recovered.
The recovered items along with the Drug Smuggler were handed over to Moreh Police for further investigation.
