New Delhi: Government schools in Delhi have excelled in the results of the 12th board examination.

In the results declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday, Delhi Government-run schools recorded a pass percentage of 96.29 percent while the national pass percentage was reported at 92.71 percent.

The highest pass percentage in public schools was reported by Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas (RPVVs). About 99.80 percent of students passed intermediate schooling here followed by the School of Excellences (SoEs) at 99.69 percent.

The SoE performed phenomenally in the results of the 10th board (CBSE) as 100 percent of students passed the examination.

The results of the class 10th board were also declared today. Government schools in the national capital recorded a pass percentage of 81.27 percent.
However, the pass percentage of a high school board is lower than the national average of 94.4 percent.

Last year, in 2020-2021, the Delhi Government Schools recorded a 99.95% pass percentage, higher than the national pass percentage of 99.37% for Class 12. For Class 10 the pass percentage recorded in 2020-2021 was 97.52%.

In Class 12th board, around 160 Delhi government schools have recorded a 100 percent pass percentage and 876 schools have recorded more than 90 percent.

Meanwhile, private schools in Delhi also showed an improvement recording a pass percentage of 97.65 percent. Prior to the onset of Covid-19, the pass percentage of private schools in the session 2018-19 was 93 percent, which has seen an increase of 4.65 percent this year.

This time the board exams were held in normal mode after 2 years.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that despite school closure amid Covid-19, students and teachers worked hard to achieve the “stupendous feat.”

“It is worth mentioning here that Covid-induced school closure in the past two years had a serious impact on the studies and emotional wellbeing of children. But despite this, when the schools were reopened on a regular basis earlier this year, student-teachers worked hard and gave their best,” he added.
