Imphal: All the Polling and Security Personnel deployed for the 10 Assembly Constituencies of Imphal East District for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections, 2022 have been dispersed Sunday.
The first phase of polling for 38 ACs in Manipur is scheduled for Monday, February 28.
The dispersal started from 11 a.m. onwards from five different dispersal sites. Personnel deployed for 1-Khundrakpam and 8-Lamlai were dispersed from Modern College Campus, while, those for 2-Heignang and 3-Khurai were dispersed from Modern College Ground.
For 14-Yaiskul and 15-Wangkhei, the personnel was dispersed from SDO Porompat Complex and Star Sporting Club Ground. Personnel for 6-Keirao and 7-Andro were dispersed from Eastern Youth Constructive Association Ground (EYCA), while, those for 4-Khestrigao and 5-Thongju dispersed from Community Medicine Block inside the JNIMS Complex.
There will webcasting of all 433 polling stations of the 10 ACs of Imphal East. 42 in Khundrakpam, 45 in Heingang, 44 in Khurai, 46 in Kshetrigao, 45 in Thongju, 39 in Keirao, 44 in Andro, 40 in Lamlai, 38 in Yaiskul, and 50 in Wangkhei.
The total nos. of Women polling Station, called Eeta Polling Stations, is 130, out of which, the entire 88 polling stations belonging to Wangkhei and Yaiskul will be manned by Women personnel only. Moreover, there will be 20 Model Polling Stations with each AC having two Model Polling Stations.
A total of 3,22,517 electors, which includes 1,57,003 males, 1,70,159 females and 65 transgender will decide the fate of 45 candidates, including Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and Ministers Thongam Biswajit Singh and Thokchom Satyabrata Singh.
