New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested its four Sub-Inspectors posted at Delhi in an alleged corruption case, the probe agency said on Thursday.
The searches were conducted at their premises and recovered incriminating documents which were being scrutinized. A case was filed against SIs and unknown officials/private persons on the basis of a complaint, CBI said.
The complainant who is running a partnership firm in Chandigarh had alleged that on May 10, six persons including CBI officials allegedly entered his office and threatened him that he would be arrested for supporting and providing money to terrorists, CBI said.
It was further alleged that the accused forcefully took the complainant in a car and demanded Rs 25 lakh from him, CBI said.
CBI on receipt of the complaint, immediately registered a case, identified three other officials allegedly involved in the matter and affected their arrests. Taking a serious note of this act on part of these officials, all four of them were dismissed from service, CBI said.
