Guwahati: Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday said that BJP remains committed to the development and progress of the North East region.
Sonowal who arrived here after following his ascension into the BJP party’s apex body said that BJP is the only hope for the North East and Assam.
Sonowal received a rousing welcome following his ascension into BJP party’s apex bodies – Central Parliamentary Board and Central Election Committee.
“BJP, the world’s largest political party, has dedicated itself to nation-building with a spirit of service and dedication. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve the party. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and National President of the Party, JP Nadda have once again reimposed their sincere devotion to the North East when they allowed me to serve the party at the highest policy-making bodies of the BJP, the Central Parliamentary Board and the Central Election Committee,” Sonowal said.
He added, “I am committed to serving this responsibility with utmost dedication, commitment and sincerity.”
“Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji and the BJP National President, JP Nadda ji, the BJP has been working tirelessly for the welfare of the people. The party remains committed towards the development and progress of Northeast,” he further added.
“The Asta Lakshmi of India, the Northeast has found a special place in the vision of our beloved leader, Modiji. It is his commitment to the people of the Northeast that has resulted in a region free of bloodshed and a renewed vigour towards a better future. For the people of Assam and Northeast, BJP is the only party that respects their dreams and commits to turning them into reality with sheer hard work & commitment”, he added.
Tomorrow, a party function is being organised to extend greetings to Sarbananda Sonowal which will be attended by the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma; Assam State BJP President, Bhabesh Kalita among all the prominent leaders of the state along with party workers.
