BJP appoints central observers

Sitharaman has been appointed as the Observer of Manipur along with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju as the Co-Observer.

New Delhi: Following the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the assembly elections in four states, the party has now appointed central observers for the election of the legislature party leader in these states.

The observers include: Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.

According to a press release issued by BJP General Secretary Arun Singh on Monday, the BJP Parliamentary Board has appointed Shah as Uttar Pradesh observer and party vice-president Raghubar Das as co-observer.

Singh will be the observer for Uttarakhand, while Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi has been made co-supervisor for the state. Sitharaman has been appointed as the Observer of Manipur along with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju as the Co-Observer.

Tomar has been appointed as Observer of Goa along with Union Minister L Murugan as Co-Observer. It is noteworthy that the BJP has returned to power in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.

Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh, Dr Pramod Sawant in Goa and N Biren Singh in Manipur are almost certain to become the Chief Minister.

Whereas, the party will take a decision on the new name for Uttarakhand Chief Minister post, as Pushkar Singh Dhami has lost the election.

The party has appointed observers after the elections to know the opinion of MLAs and then on the basis of the report, a final decision will be taken on who will be the CM.
