Guwahati: Covid19 infections continue to surge in Assam with more than 8,000 new cases detected on Tuesday.
The number is the highest single-day surge in the infection.

As per National Health Mission, the positivity rate stood at 12.62 per cent on Tuesday. Around 16 people lost their lives to the virus infection.
Out of the total cases, Kamrup (Metro) which consists of capital Guwahati alone counted for 1996 new cases.
