Nagaland records 89 new Covid19 cases

According to the official bulletin, 60 of the fresh cases were detected by self-testing and random sampling, 25 were returnees from outside the state, two were from the security forces personnel, two were from traced contacts. The total caseload of the state on Tuesday was 32,053.

Kohima: Nagaland recorded 89 new Covid19 cases, increasing the overall Coronavirus count in the state to 33,053, a state health bulletin said on Wednesday.

With no report of death in Covid19 related to the pandemic in the state, the death count remained at 703.

According to the official bulletin, 60 of the fresh cases were detected by self-testing and random sampling, 25 were returnees from outside the state, two were from the security forces personnel, two were from traced contacts. The total caseload of the state on Tuesday was 32,053.

Altogether 104 patients recovered in Nagaland on Tuesday. With this, 30,624 patients have recovered from the infection in Nagaland so far, with a recovery rate of 92.69 per cent.

The number of active Covid cases in the state stood at 454 on Tuesday; out of whom 407 were asymptomatic, 45 mild and one moderate on oxygen and one severe on oxygen.

The District-wise distribution of active cases – Dimapur (381), Kohima (48), Tuensang (16), Mokokchung and Peren (both five), and two in Phek.

Altogether a total of 13,80,726 persons have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the State till January 18 last, the bulletin added.
