Assam police file chargesheet in doctor’s assault case; 3 children among 36 named

Guwahati: Assam police on Tuesday submitted a chargesheet naming 36 people, including three children, in the Hojai doctor assault case.
“Reference Udali Doctor assault case of Hojai – @Hojai_Police has submitted a charge sheet today against 36 accused persons including 3 children in conflict with law. In 29 days,” Special DG of Assam Police G P Singh tweeted.
On June 1, a doctor-on-duty Seuj Kumar Senapati in the Futadil Model Hospital in Hojai district was mercilessly beaten by the relatives of the COVID-19 patient who succumbed to the virus evoking strong protests from doctors community across the county.
