Assam man arrested with “yaba” tablets

Shillong: Troopers of the Border Security Force (BSF) have arrested a 21-year-old man for possessing 210 “yaba” tablets in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district on Monday, a BSF official said on Tuesday.

Urup Miah, a native of Kakripara village under Assam South Salmara, was supposed to deliver the consignment to an unknown person at Purakhasia market.

The arrested person claimed that that he works as a “carrier” on the directions of one Md Saiful of Kakripara village.

The BSF have handed over the accused to the Meghalaya police for further necessary action.
