Assam CM calls on Amit Shah

New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah here on Friday.

During his meeting with Shah at his Parliament office, Sarma apprised him about the state government’s initiatives in flood management. 

“Among others, I apprised Home Minister ji on Assam Government’s efforts in flood management,” the CM wrote in a tweet after meeting with the minister.

He also expressed his gratitude to Shah for the stupendous support of the Central agencies including NDRF in Assam floods. 

Later, talking to reporters at the Assam House, Sarma said there is no dearth of funds for relief and rehabilitation work.

The CM also informed that the ministers along with secretaries would visit the flood affected areas in the next seven days.

They will submit reports of the extent of damage following which funds would be released by August 10-12, he added.
