Congress chief Sonia likely to appear before ED on Tuesday

New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi is likely to be questioned again by the ED on Tuesday in the National Herald newspaper case, sources said.

Sources in the Enforcement Directorate said she is likely to be questioned again on July 26. 

Meanwhile, Congress sources said the ED has confirmed the questioning will not be done on July 25, and another date will be given.

Sonia Gandhi was questioned by the ED for 2-3 hours on Thursday. 

Party leader Rahul Gandhi has already appeared for questioning at the ED for five days, and has been questioned for over 50 hours.

As per the complaint filed in the court of the Metropolitan Magistrate, Associated Journals Limited (AJL) took an interest-free loan of Rs 90.25 crore from Indian National Congress, which was not paid back.

Congress has maintained there is no money laundering involved, and has called the summon a ‘politically motivated move by the Modi government’.
