Arunachal reports 497 new Covid-19 cases; Death toll mounts to 111

Itanagar: As many as 497 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s caseload to 26,317, while the death toll rose to 111 as two more succumbed to the virus.

Out of the fresh cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 103, Tawang 67 and Namsai 64, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Barring 140, all the patients are asymptomatic.

According to the bulletin, two patients succumbed to the virus. A 55-year-old woman from Changlang who was referred to AMCH, Dibrugarh (Assam) expired on Friday. Another, 79-year-old man from Itanagar Capital Complex died on Thursday at Dedicated Covid Hospital, Chimpu here.

On a positive note, 333 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 22,352.

Active cases stood at 3,854.
