Arunachal govt constitutes Women Rights panel

As per the notification, the six-member new body of the State Women's Commission will be headed by Kenjum Pakam as its Chairperson.

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Government has constituted the sixth body of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) over two months after the previous body was dissolved.

“In exercise of the powers conferred under section 5 (1) of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) Act, 2002 and Amendment Act, 2005, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh is pleased to constitute the 6th body of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) consisting of six members,” an official notification from the Department of Women and Child Development, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, said.

As per the notification, the six-member new body of the State Women’s Commission will be headed by Kenjum Pakam as its Chairperson.

Nabam Yahi Tad will be the Vice-Chairperson of the Commission, while Kago T Yasung, Maya Pulu, Komna Moidam and Ngurang Nama will be its members. The outgoing Commission was dissolved on January 30 last, official sources said.
