Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra on Monday conferred the State Awards comprising gold and silver medals to 47 meritorious individuals of the State in a function held at the recently inaugurated General Bipin Rawat Hall of Raj Bhavan here.
He also gave away the Chief Minister’s Excellence Award in Public Administration and the Chief Minister’s Award for Cleanest Village in the presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and State Assembly Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona, among other dignitaries.
While presenting the awards, the Governor congratulated the awardees and expressed the hope that they will inspire their fellow citizens and contribute whole-heartedly in the development of Arunachal Pradesh.
While 25 people were conferred the silver medals, gold medals were awarded to 22 best-performing persons including administrators, police officers, teachers, engineers, progressive farmers and social workers, and NGOs Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF) and Gumin Rego Kilaju (GRK) for their outstanding public service.
Former East Siang DC Dr Kinny Singh, along with her team including DDSE Jongge Yirang, Principal (DIET) Biren Dutta, RGU assistant professor Dr David Gao and Pasighat’s IGJHS School teacher Binoymoti Modi Tayeng, and Public Health Engineering & Water Supply Department, Eastern Zone, Itanagar led by its Chief Engineer Tomo Basar and his team received the Chief Minister’s Excellence Award in Public Administration, 2021. Nine villages of the State – New Tupi of Tirap district, Kolung of Upper Siang, Silluk (East Siang), Tusinnite (Lower Dibang Valley), Singbir (Shi-Yomi), Thongleng (Tawang), Jirdin (West Siang), Bonia (Longding) and Mimey of Namsai received Chief Minister’s Award for Cleanest Village.
