Imphal: Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organized distribution of essential relief materials to the villagers of Old Samtal, Kovang, Hengkot, Phoilen, Tuitong and Sehlon, affected by violent thunderstorms on May 7, 2024.

The devastating thunderstorms for two consecutive days had caused severe damage to shelters in surrounding villages leaving a trail of health issues and habitat destruction.

Recognizing the urgent need for support, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with local authorities, initiated a comprehensive relief effort to assist affected villagers.

Assam Rifles has mobilized essential food materials and resources for repairing damaged shelters and restoring the livelihoods of affected villagers. The relief team worked diligently ensuring an equitable distribution process, reaching out to the most vulnerable sections of the population.
