Shangshak: To support local youth preparing for career opportunities in the Armed Forces, Assam Rifles conducted a Pre-Screening Medical Test for Agniveer aspirants at the Unit Hospital in Shangshak, Ukhrul district on 25 September 2026. The initiative was designed to provide timely medical assessment, structured guidance and expert health evaluation to eligible candidates ahead of the upcoming stages of the recruitment process.
A total of eight candidates from Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, who had successfully qualified in the Agniveer written examination, participated in the preliminary medical screening. Under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer and the medical team of the Unit Hospital, the candidates underwent a thorough health assessment covering essential physical parameters and overall medical fitness required for military service. Following the evaluation, medical staff briefed the aspirants on key aspects of physical fitness, personal hygiene, balanced nutrition and health maintenance to ensure optimal readiness for their upcoming physical and medical tests.
The timely intervention provided candidate-centric support, enabling young aspirants from remote border districts to approach the recruitment process with heightened confidence and clarity. In the regional context of Manipur, such practical welfare initiatives play a meaningful role in guiding youth towards constructive career pathways, enhancing local employment opportunities and building strong community relations.
