Guwahati: A medium intensity earthquake, measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted Guwahati on Wednesday, at around 5.54 pm.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at Sonitpur, in Assam.
No casualty or loss of property has been reported.
The northeastern region has been experiencing frequent tremors since May-June this year.
Earlier in November, an earthquake of 4.4 magnitude hit a few areas of Assam, Meghalaya, and Manipur.
