Manipur Govt declares July 5 as holiday

Imphal: The Government of Manipur has declared July 5, 2024, as a public holiday for all government offices, including Public Sector Undertakings, Corporations, Autonomous Bodies, and Societies under its jurisdiction. This announcement, made on Thursday (July 4), follows previous orders issued on July 2 and July 3, 2024, which declared July 3 and July 4, 2024, as public holidays.

The order stipulates that all banks, financial institutions, and other similar establishments in the state will also remain closed on July 5, 2024. The government has appealed to the general public to stay indoors and refrain from going out except for emergencies, allowing authorities to carry out rescue and relief operations smoothly.

However, departments involved in rescue and relief operations and essential services, such as Home, Police, Fire Services, District Administration, Relief & Disaster Management, Power, Health & Family Welfare, PHE, Water Resources, PWD, GAD, CAF&PD, MI, Forests, and LDA, will remain operational on July 5. Additionally, officers and employees of other departments are required to be available by phone for any emergencies, as stated in the order.
