Imphal: Manipur’s Health & IPR Minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh laid foundation stones for the construction of a Trauma Centre at CHC, Nungba, a 50-bedded Sub-District Hospital and an Amusement Park at Rangpang, Longmai in Noney District, Tuesday.
Speaking as Chief Guest, Minister Ranjan said that the primary health care system needs to be focused and improved. Without strengthening primary health care, the tertiary health care system will hardly be able to be improved. The government is trying to improve the overall health care system in the state. All the sections under the medical department need to join hands and work with dedication for bringing a change in this sector, he informed.
The Minister maintained that the government has launched many health care schemes at the state and central level. TB Mukt Bharat, PMJAY, Ayushman Bharat Abhiyan, Chief Minister’s Hakshel for All, CMHA etc. are some of the examples which may be cited. The government has set 2025 as the target for complete elimination of TB disease from the country which is five years ahead of the WHO target, he added.
The Minister also assured for the construction of buildings at those areas where there is no physical building at Primary Health Centres in Noney Districts. He also assured that required machines and equipment of the CHC and PHCs in Noney District will be provided on priority basis, he added.
He appealed to all the concerned medical professionals and staff to serve the public with dedication and sincerity. The Minister also advised the concerned authorities to keep the hospital and its surroundings clean. He also added that the staff need to have a sense of belongingness.
Chairman Hills Area Committee, MLA Dipu Gangmei, Director, Health Services Manipur, Dr. Kh. Sasheekumar Mangang, Director NHM, Manipur Dr. Somorjit Ningombam graced the occasion as President and Guests of Honour respectively. Officials and staff of Medical Directorate and NHM, Manipur, CSOs of Noney Districts and others also attended the occasion.
Later, the Minister inspected the present status of the CHC, Noney and also interacted with the staff.
