Churachandpur: A swift and well coordinated effort by Assam Rifles personnel and local fire brigade successfully contained a major fire incident at T Sejang Village in Churachandpur district, Manipur, on the evening of 24 July 2026.
Upon receiving information at approximately 1915 hours regarding a blaze that had engulfed a residential house, Assam Rifles immediately mobilised a rescue column and a medical team to the site to provide emergency support. The situation had intensified following an LPG cylinder explosion within the completely gutted residential structure, posing a grave threat to adjacent houses in the locality. Working in seamless coordination with the civil authorities and the fire brigade, the rescue teams actively engaged in firefighting operations. Through prompt response and efficient coordination, the personnel managed to bring the raging flames under control in the shortest possible time, effectively preventing the blaze from spreading to neighbouring properties.
Owing to the rapid deployment and fortuitous conditions, no injuries or casualties were reported during the entire operation. Concerned civil authorities are currently ascertaining the exact cause of the fire.
