Two from Manipur shot dead in Myanmar

The two persons belonging to the Tamil community identified as M Pyanar, 32, and P Mohon, 28, of Moreh had reportedly gone to Tamu border town of Myanmar on Tuesday.

Imphal: Two persons from Moreh, border town of Manipur were allegedly shot dead in Myanmar.

The two persons belonging to the Tamil community identified as M Pyanar, 32, and P Mohon, 28, of Moreh had reportedly gone to Tamu border town of Myanmar on Tuesday. 

Agency reports said that Mohan was an autorickshow driver and a resident of Gamnom Veng, Moreh Ward No 2. He got married about only two weeks ago. Pyanar ran a small shop in Moreh Ward No 4. 

To protest the killing all shops were closed down at Moreh. Indian officials were in touch with Myanmar authorities to discuss the incident.

Reports said that they were shot dead by Pyu Shaw Htee, a militia affiliated with Myanmar military, around 1 pm on Tuesday.
