Umiam: The largest ever batch of 578 trainee officers belonging to the Assam police, passed out of the North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA) on Wednesday after the successful completion of 50th batch of basic course.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the passing off parade and commissioned these officers into active policing. Deepak Kumar, Director, NEPA administered oath to the trainees.
Chief Minister Sarma in his address congratulated the trainee officers and urged them to contribute to nation building through active policing. Sarma also distributed the trophies and medals awarded to the trainees for the individual performance.
All the officers who passed out on Wednesday were trained on a well-researched module approved by the Bureau of Police Research and Development.
As part of the outdoor training, the trainees underwent six days of tactics and jungle camps where they carried out cordon and search operations.
