Kamjong: As part of its sustained efforts to foster a secure environment, promote peace and strengthen civil-military relations, Assam Rifles organised Security Interaction Meetings across Kamjong District, Manipur, from 01 to 03 August 2026. The engagements were conducted at Kasom Khullen, Kasong and Sorde Company Operating Bases (COBs) on 01, 02 and 03 August 2026 respectively. Chaired by senior officials of Assam Rifles, the meetings witnessed active participation from a total of 44 civilian representatives, including Village Headmen, Village Secretaries and members of various Civil Society Organisations.
During the interactive sessions, senior officials highlighted that lasting peace, security and inclusive development rely on mutual trust, continuous communication and active public participation. Discussions focused on maintaining law and order, preventing anti-national activities, promoting communal harmony and ensuring timely sharing of information. Explaining the legal scope of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, officials stated that it provides the framework for operations in notified disturbed areas. They reaffirmed that Assam Rifles remains committed to conducting all operations with professionalism, restraint, transparency, accountability and respect for citizen rights and dignity. The civilian representatives appreciated the continuous security efforts, community welfare initiatives and regular dialogue undertaken by Assam Rifles. Reaffirming their commitment to extending full cooperation, participants offered valuable suggestions during open sessions to further reinforce the shared resolve towards peace, stability and progress across Kamjong District
