GOC-in-C Eastern Command calls on Meghalaya Governor & CM

Shillong: General Officer Commander-in-Chief of Eastern Command, Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita on Thursday met Governor Satya Pal Malik and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and held discussions on security situation in Meghalaya.

The GOC-in-C also briefed the Governor and Chief Minister on the various initiatives taken by the Indian Army. He assured full support of the security forces in maintaining a conducive security environment in the region.

Lieutenant General Kalita visited Headquarters 101 Area & Headquarters 51 Sub Area. The Army commander was briefed on operational and administrative preparedness of the formation in Meghalaya.

Lieutenant General Kalita also visited 58 GTC & ARC to see the training activities & infrastructure.

The GOC-in-C commended the efforts of the Army in maintaining high level of professionalism and appreciated their untiring endeavours towards assisting the local populace and civil administration especially during the pandemic times.
