Imphal: A combined team of Bishnupur police, Moirang Police Station and Ikhai-PS arrested one person from Kwakta under Bishnupur district on Thursday and seized huge amount of drug from his possession.
The arrested person has been identified as Md Nawas Khan Singamayum (25 years), son of Md Tayeb Ali alias Tomba of Borayangbi Awang Ward No. 1. He was arrested from the house of one Md Janap Khan (Nawas Khan’s brother in law) alias Babul of Kwakta Ward No. 3 (Kwakta Municipal Council).
The combined team seized six white plastic sacks containing 202.2 kg in total seeds suspected to be poppy plant, 36.5 kg of white chemical, 800 litres of Hydrogen Peroxide contained in black jar, 136 nos. of Iron Plate, one weighing machine marked as JINDAL STAILESS, one stand fan, two electric heater and one Oppo mobile phone with SIM card from the house.
The arrested accused person and seized items were handed over to officer-in –charge, Moirang-Police Station. A case has been registered at Moirang Police Statiion for further investigation.
