Two deaths, 28 positive cases, 39 recoveries Friday in Manipur

The two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus were from Imphal West, he had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated for Covid.

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday, one person succumbed to Covid-19, taking Manipur’s cumulative death toll to 1966. During the same period, 28 persons (27 from the general population, one CAPF) tested positive while 34 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus were from Imphal West, he had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated for Covid.

Of the 27 persons who tested positive from the general population, 11 are from Imphal East, nine from Imphal West, three each from Ukhrul and Kakching and one each from Bishnupur and Tengnoupal.

Altogether, 1,485 persons were tested for a positivity rate of 1.9 %.

Meanwhile, 39 persons recovered and were discharged, seven of them from home isolation, 26 from CCCs, five from JNIMS and one from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.88 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,098 out of which 1,22,456 have recovered leaving 674 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on November 25, 2021, is 4,617, the cumulative number of doses administered is 21,27,145 (1st dose 12,74,832, 2nd dose 8,52,313).
