Thoubal: District Health Society Thoubal Thursday organised World No Tobacco day at the Counting Hall of D.C Complex Thoubal .
Speaking at the function Deputy Commissioner Thouba,l who is also Chairperson of District Health Society Thoubal A.Subhash Singh, IAS, said tobacco is one of the leading causes of health problems.
To prevent such health hazardous food products, giving awareness and strict enforcement of fines and penalties will be more effective in tackling the issue.
He appealed to the concerned departments and law enforcing authority to take up concrete measures to prevent the sale of tobacco products in close proximity of schools’, college campuses as well as in offices.
The theme of World No Tobacco day 2022 is “Tobacco :Threat to our Environment “. It highlights that tobacco pollutes the environment and damages the health of people.
The Deputy Commissioner also administered a pledge ‘not to use or consume any of the tobacco products’. Power Point presentations on the harmful effects of tobacco consumption were presented to give awareness.
The program was attended by SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam IPS,CMO Thoubal Dr.Y. Nokul Singh , Dr. S Bimola Kumari and MS District Hospital,Thoubal Dr. Ch. Memcha Devi .
