Simdega: Hosts Jharkhand moved into the finals of the 11th Hockey India Junior Women Championship being played here by defeating Maharashtra in the semifinals 3-1.
This will be the third consecutive occasion when Jharkhand has managed to get into the finals of the Junior Women’s Hockey Championships.
Jharkhand scored all three goals through penalty corners in the 14th, 42nd and 50th minute while Maharashtra could manage only one goal that too in the 17th minute.
Earlier in the first semi-finals of the day Haryana defeated
Chandigarh in a closely fought contest 3-2.
On Friday first the 3rd and 4th place matches will be played between Chandigarh and Maharashtra which will be followed by the finals in the afternoon. Sports Minister of Jharkhand Hafizul Hasan will be the Chief Guest at the finals.
