Women in NDA is a step towards gender equality: Army Chief Naravane

Elaborating further about the future of women in the Indian army, the Army chief said "Forty years down the line they (women) can stand where I am standing now".

Pune: Army Chief M M Naravane on Friday said the induction of Women In National Defence Academy ( NDA) is a step towards gender equality.
The Army chief was here to review the passing out parade of 141 st Course of National Defence Academy.

Elaborating further about the future of women in the Indian army, the Army chief said “Forty years down the line they (women) can stand where I am standing now”.

The army chief said we can induct women cadets into NDA while being fully confident that women can equally perform like men.

The women will also get empowered to hold more challenging assignments in the Indian armed forces, he added.

The army chief said also we have more strength in terms of technological warfare saying that India is always ahead of other nations in developing or developed countries in terms of induction of technology.
