Imphal: A combined team of NAB and Imphal West police arrested a woman and recovered a huge amount of drugs along with materials for manufacturing drugs at Chesam Muslim Mayai Leikai under Mayang Imphal police station on Saturday.
The combined team led by Saklemba Rajkumar, Additional SP/NAB, Amarjit Singh Lamabam, Additional SP/Ops and K Bobby, OC/NAB P.S. conducted a raid at a suspected clandestine brown sugar laboratory in the house of one Chesam Ayub Ali, Chesam Muslim Leikai, Mayang Imphal on Saturday. During the raid the combined team found one packet of brown sugar weighing about 217 gm, five packets of opium weighting about 4.3 kg, two sacks of remnants weighing about 21.864 kg, three packets of lime, five bottles of ammonium chloride, one steel bucket, weighing tools, one pair of hand glove, one cooking gas cylinder, one blue colour tub, 75lt capacity Brite containing morphinated solution, one wooden press with stand for extracting brown sugar and One Honda Activa.
During the raid, Chesam (O) Maibam Sahera (30 years) was arrested but her husband Ali was still on the run, said a statement. In this regard a case has been registered at NAB PS.
