Agartala: The council of ministers in a meeting on Thursday decided to launch a new scheme “Chief Minister Social Assistance Scheme” for the poor people who are not enrolled in social allowances of central or state government.
Chief Minister Manik Saha said the cabinet has agreed to provide as many as 30,000 new beneficiaries under this scheme, they would now get a monthly allowance of Rs 2000 from next month.
He informed that the cabinet also cleared a 15 per cent hike in the expenditure required for payment of salaries to Anganwadi workers, helpers and Asha workers from next month. A week ago the state government had hiked the 3.80 lakh beneficiaries of 30 social pensions from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 per month.
Meanwhile, government spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury told the media that the cabinet filling up with 9175 posts including the recruitment of 6067 Special Executive posts under the home department.
They would be deployed to assist the police in all the police stations in rural and urban areas to ensure more security for the people of the state.
Also decided to recruit 3108 teachers among the candidates who cleared Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET). Out of them, 757 are Under Graduate Teachers and 2351 are Graduate Teachers at Upper Primary Level.
