Imphal: Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), organised a tree plantation drive at Wanglee village in Kamjong district of Manipur. The initiative was part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability and foster closer ties with local communities.
The event witnessed the active participation of 20 villagers alongside Assam Rifles personnel, reflecting a spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility. A total of 100 saplings were planted across selected areas of the village, aimed at increasing green cover and contributing to a cleaner, healthier environment.
Beyond ecological preservation, the drive sought to raise awareness among residents about the importance of afforestation and environmental protection. The joint participation of villagers and troops highlighted the collective commitment towards building a greener future.
Residents of Wanglee expressed appreciation for the initiative, acknowledging the meaningful role played by Assam Rifles in supporting the welfare of the region.
