Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning likely to occur in Telangana in next 24 hours: MeT

Hyderabad: Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in few districts of Telangana during the next 24 hours, Meteorological Centre said on Sunday.

In a bulletin here, it said that light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places in Telangana during the next three days.

Dry weather is likely to prevail in Telangana on October 20 and 21, the bulletin said.

Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous in Telangana during the last 24 hours.

Very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Karimnagar district and Heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Adilabad, Jagtial, Medak, Medchal Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar, Mulugu, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rangareddy, Rajanna Sircilla and Siddipet districts of Telangana during the same period.

Rain occurred at most places in Telangana during the last 24 hours, the bulletin added.

Meanwhile, in a special bulletin, MeT said the Low-Pressure Area over north Telangana & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists.

The east-west trough between 1.5 km & 5.8 km above means sea level now runs across East-central Bay of Bengal from Gulf of Martaban to the cyclonic circulation associated with the above Low-Pressure Area over north Telangana & neighbourhood.

The Southwest monsoon withdrawal line continues to pass through Lat. 27.0°N/Long. 92.0°E, Kohima, Silchar, Krishnanagar,Baripada, Malkangiri, Nalgonda, Bagalkote, Vengurla, Lat. 16.0°N/Long. 65.0°E and Lat. 16.0°N/Long.60.0°E, the bulletin added.
