Hyderabad: Telangana registered a whopping 3816 fresh COVID-19 cases until 1730 hours on Sunday, taking the infection cases tally in the state to 5,28,823 so far.
The cumulative toll in the state mounted to 2955 after 27 patients died of COVID-19 in a span of 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here Sunday.
As many as 5892 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries thus far to 4,74,899 constituting a recovery rate of 89.80 per cent while the national average was 84.2 per cent.
Active cases in the state currently stand at 50,969, the bulletin said.
As many as 44985 samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus during the last 24 hours out of which the results of 1396 swab samples are awaited.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic,1,40,61,725 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far, the bulletin added.
