Kerala reports 29,704 new COVID-19 cases, 34,296 recoveries

The CM said 1,15,982 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate is 25.61 %. Till now, a total of 1,79,28,337 samples have been sent for testing.

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid-19 was detected in 29,704 persons in Kerala on Sunday while 34,296 patients have recovered from the disease, a statement said here.

“In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK taking the total to 125, and their samples have been sent to NIV, Pune for further testing. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus,” it said.

Meanwhile, 89 recent deaths were confirmed Sunday due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 6,428.

The CM said 1,15,982 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate is 25.61 %. Till now, a total of 1,79,28,337 samples have been sent for testing.

Today, two placees were identified as new hotspots while no place was excluded from the list, taking the total to 852 hotspots in the State.
