Six were struck by lightning in Assam

The weather department stated that several districts in Assam will witness heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Guwahati: As many as six women tea garden workers were struck by lightning in Assam’s Biswanath district as several areas of the state witnessed incessant rainfall and thunderstorms.


All of them were identified as tea garden workers of the Majuligarh Tea Estate and Pabhoi Tea Estate.


The injured have been identified as Charit Orang, Laxmi Kalandi, Mami Bhumij, Gopi Oriya (Pabhoi), Pinky Tasha, and Kumli Khadal.


All of them are currently under medical supervision.
The India Meteorological Department had predicted heavy rainfall in several districts of Assam on June 8 and 9, 2022.


The weather department stated that several districts in Assam will witness heavy to very heavy rainfall.
