Gangtok: Sikkim Govt announced on Sunday announced the lifting of some of the restrictions imposed earlier, including regarding domestic borders.
The lockdown which is to end on Monday at 5 am will continue with certain relaxations, till July 12, 2021, 6 am. Tourists and others will be allowed to enter the state from Melli and Rangpo, if they have taken both doses of vaccination against corona. They are no longer required to produce RTPCR Test Negative reports. The only certificate of vaccination will be sufficient. Principal Home Secretary, Ravindra Telang IAS, has issued an order stressing on COVID-19 protocol, which has to be followed strictly.
‘All hotels, guest houses and homestays will now be allowed to function with 50% capacity. Malls and showrooms will also be allowed to open. All government offices, public sector undertakings, boards and corporations (State Govt) will be functioning with 100% attendance of those employees who have taken both the doses of vaccine against COVID19. Others will continue with 50% as is already happening,’ says R Telang Principal Home Secretary.
As far as vaccination is concerned +5 lakh beneficiaries are on record, hence the government offices are also likely to function at full capacity.
Pillion riders have also been allowed on all the two-wheelers. Factories have also been allowed to function with100% capacity having taken both the COVID jabs.
