Senapati: Training of Enumerators and Supervisors for the first phase of Census 2027, covering the House Listing and Housing Census (HLO), commenced today at the DC Conference Hall, DRDA Hall, ADC Hall and Skill-cum-Rural Entrepreneurship Centre in Senapati District as part of the comprehensive preparations for the smooth and successful conduct of the Census.
The training is being conducted by Field Trainers (FTs) in close coordination with the respective Charge Officers/Sub-Divisional Officers of Tadubi, Willong and Paomata, with the objective of equipping field functionaries with the requisite knowledge and skills to undertake the Census exercise accurately, systematically and efficiently.
The training sessions focus on Census methodology, field procedures, identification and coverage of households, and collection of information relating to housing conditions, household amenities and assets, along with other prescribed aspects of the House Listing and Housing Census.
Special emphasis is being laid on the digital conduct of Census 2027. Enumerators are being provided hands-on training in the HLO mobile application for digital data collection and submission, while Supervisors are being trained in monitoring, verification and ensuring complete coverage of their assigned enumeration areas.
The trainers also sensitised the participants on the importance of maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and neutrality while collecting information from households. The Enumerators and Supervisors were advised to strictly follow the prescribed guidelines and procedures and ensure that no household or structure is left out during the field exercise.
The training programme also includes recap and quiz-test sessions to assess the understanding of participants, administration of the Seva Bhaav Pledge, reflection and valedictory sessions, followed by the distribution of Enumerator and Supervisor (E&S) kit materials.
It may be mentioned that the training programme will continue up to 24th August 2026, covering the remaining Sub-Divisions in the district in the coming days.
The District Administration has appealed to all Census functionaries to discharge their duties with utmost dedication, sincerity and professionalism. It has also urged the public to extend full cooperation to the Enumerators and Supervisors by providing the required information accurately during the Census exercise, thereby contributing to the successful conduct of Census 2027.
