Thiruvananthapuram: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on Saturday termed the State Bank of India’s latest circular on the pregnancy of candidates as ‘anti-women.’

“According to the latest SBI circular, candidates who are pregnant three months and above will be considered temporarily unfit. This SBI decision is unconstitutional,” the DYFI state secretariat said in a press release here.

The revised guidelines of SBI pertaining to the appointment of pregnant women are unconditional, undemocratic and can’t be justified in a cultured society, it added. The DYFI also called upon the people to protest against the SBI guidelines which are against the fundamental rights of women in society.
