Imphal: A combined team of Assam Rifles and Manipur police Friday recovered huge arms and ammunition in a joint operation conducted at Sajirok village in Imphal West district.
One 7.64mm SLR rifle, fourteen grenades, one 9 MM pistol, ammunition and other war-like stories were recovered during the search operations.
On the other hand, a total of 17 weapons, ammunition, explosives and war-like stores were recovered during a joint operation launched by the Assam Rifles and Police at Hengken village under Churachandpur district. One 7.62 mm SLR rifle, one 9 mm pistol, ten single barrel rifles, five improvised mortars, grenades and ammunition in the operation.
The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, as per a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
