Manipur: 1st round poll personnel training for Bishnupur, Thoubal districts conducted

During the phase-wise training session, poll personnel will be capacitated on theoretical aspects, handling of EVMs, Booth Apps, IT apps, Communications, and Mock Polls for better familiarisation.

Imphal: The first round of training for presiding and polling officers in connection with the ensuing General Elections to the 18th Lok Sabha, 2024 for Bishnupur district and Thoubal district was held on Saturday.

For Bishnupur district, the training was held in two different sessions morning and afternoon at four different venues namely Panchayat Resource Centre (PRC) of Mini Secretariat Complex and three halls of C.I College, Bishnupur. More than 500 officials were trained today i.e. on the second and last day of training. Altogether, more than 700 officials were trained in the first round of training which started yesterday.  

Rishikanta Loitongbam ARO, Bishenpur AC, S. Indrajit Singh, ARO Nambol AC & Oinam AC, M. Suranjoy Singh, ARO Moirang AC & Kumbi AC and M. Ricky Singh, Jr. ARO Thanga AC were the overall in charge of the training. 

The officials were briefed about their roles and responsibilities with respect to the conduct of the election. The training also seeks to ensure that election officials are prepared to conduct free, fair and transparent election.

For Thoubal district, the first round of training for personnel deputed for poll duty commenced Saturday at Thoubal College, Thoubal. Altogether 647 officials were appointed as Presiding Officers and Polling Officers I of all 6 (six) Assembly Constituencies falling under Thoubal district and attended the training session for efficient execution of poll duties. Nodal Office for Manpower Management and Nodal Officer for Training Management, K. Prakash Singh (SDC HQ) led the training session.
