Republic Day celebrated in various districts of Manipur

In Churachandpur, Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Yadav hoisted the National Tri-Colour and took salute of the marching contingents from 5 Parade Contingents led by S Bijoy Kumar, SDPO Churachandpur comprising of BSF, Civil Police and 1stĀ IRB Band Party.Ā 

Presentation of awards to outstanding Govt employees and march past contingents marked the occasion.

Addressing the gatherings, Pawan Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Churachandpur said ā€œThe object of government or administration in peace and in war is not the glory of rulers or races but the happiness of the common man. We must make happiness and well-being of our people as the touchstones of public policyā€.

The main function of the Republic Day celebration in Thoubal district was held at  Mini Secretariat Complex, Thoubal.

Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, N Bandana unfurled the National Flag and took salute of 6 parade contingents which included the State Police, Home Guards,VDF and Traffic Police, commanded by A Khalen DSP, Thoubal.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said, various welfare schemes have been taken up by the Government amid Covid Pandemics. She thanked healthcare and frontline workers for their efforts in preventing Covid. She also thanked the police for their efforts during the lockdown.

Projects like Jal Jivan Mission to give tap water to every household was launched. Nasha Mukta Bharat campaign was also launched in the district. He also thanked the officials and people for successfully conducting   by-election in two Assembly Constituencies of Lilong and Wangjing Tentha.

Meritorious awards were distributed to 150 officials of various departments.

Elected members of Municipal Council, Zilla Parishad and Gram Panchayats, high ranking civil and police officers of the District, and public participated in the celebration.

Republic Day was also celebrated at Pherzawl with pomp and ceremonial splendor at DC Office Complex, Pherzawl district headquarters. Deputy Commissioner of the district Mannuamching hoisted the National flag and took salute as the Chief Guest.

Greeting the people of the district on the auspicious day, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the benefits provided to all citizens under the constitution and schemes provided to the people of the district by the government. She also briefed the district about the ongoing works and the works to be taken up in the district.

Presentation of colourful cultural items, presentation of awards and citations to outstanding government employees, social workers and youth clubs marked the occasion apart. Special award for BBBP with a cash prize of Rs. 5000.00 was presented to Ms.Nienglawmkim for scoring the highest mark in HSLC Examination under Government School.

Dignitaries attending the event include Thienlaljoy Gangte, ADC, David Piaklian, SP, DLOs, Chief of villages and CSO leaders.

The Day was also celebrated at Kakching with its Deputy Commissioner, Kengoo Zuringla as the chief guest.

Talking about some of the achievements of the District Administration on the occasion, he informed that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, 12428 households have been provided tap connection. Stating that Kakching was declared the cleanest district by the department of MAHUD under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the DC said the credit for this goes to the municipal councils functioning in the district.

He also lauded the district police for its contribution in Covid management by strictly enforcing the SoP.

In Chandel District, the main function was held at Mini Secretariat, DC complex Chandel with Deputy Commissioner, Ksh Siddharth was the chief guest. As part of the Republic Day celebration, the District Administration felicitated Covid warriors, meritorious students, well-performing schools with certificates and cash awards.

Republic Day was celebrated in Bishnupur at the Mini Secretariat, Bishnupur, with Neeta Arambam, DC Bishnupur, as the chief guest.

As a part of the celebration, there were cultural programs being presented by various department in the district and 73 officials of different departments were facilitated  for their exemplary work in their respective fields.

The function was attended by MLA of Oinam AC L. Radhakishore and officers of different levels in the district.

The 72nd Republic Day Celebrations of India was celebrated by the District Administration Ukhrul at its Mini-Secretariat Compound by maintaining proper SOP guidelines today. Deputy Commissioner of the district Joseph Pauline Kamson unfurled the tri-colour national flag afterwhich addressed the gatherings highlighting various developmental projects which the administration has and will be taken up in the district.

Manipur Police and 6th MR were the two contingents along with Shri. CL.Thotreithing, SDPO of Ukhrul as the parade commander participated in the function.Ā  Kasomtang Mayar Ngala Long Dance Troupe showcased the tangkhul naga folk dance and among others were patriotic song presentations by the ZEO and Kedriya Vidyalaya.Ā 

In acknowledgement of the services rendered by employees of various departments, the district administration gave out certificates as an act of appreciation to as many as 122 personnel. In addition, the district administration gifted red blankets to nine village headmen from various villages located in the district headquarters.
