Lucknow: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday again targeted Yogi Adityanath government over corpse found in Ganga and other rivers of the state.
Besides she also raised the alleged issue of burying of bodies in the sand bed of Ganga in Unnao and state government allegedly trying to fudge the Covid numbers.
She demanded a judicial inquiry immediately under the supervision of the High Court judge on these matters.
In series of tweets on Thursday, Ms Vadra said, “According to media reports, bodies are flowing in the river in Ballia, Ghazipur and hundreds of dead bodies are buried along the river in Unnao.”
“Death figures in cities like Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur are being less reported. Extreme inhumanity is happening in Uttar Pradesh,” Ms Vadra alleged.
She further alleged that the UP government was busy building its own image while the suffering of the people is unbearable.
Only a judicial probe can find the truth so that the guilty people can be punished, she added.
