Bhubaneswar: A team of the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha police has arrested one more wildlife criminal in connection with the seizure of a tiger skin on December 14 last in Mayurbhanj district.
So far four accused have been arrested and forwarded to court in connection with the case.
STF sources here on Saturday said on the basis of intelligence report ,a team of STF and officials of Baripada Forest division during a joint raid apprehended one Chagulu, alias Purna Chandra Majhi of Sasangabeda under Udala Police station of Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
He was forwarded to the court of SDJM, Udala.
Chagulu was arrested u/s 379/411/120(b)IPC r/w Sec 25/27 Arms Act 1985 r/w Sec 51 of Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972.
On December 14 last one tiger skin and other incriminating materials were recovered from the possession of one Dev Kumar Patra.
Chagulu, was the main accused who had procured the tiger skin, STF sources said.
