Two Talathis & private person held in graft case in Aurangabad

They accepted cash of Rs 40,000 and Rs 10,000 through Phonepay ,said ACB sources in their press statement issued on Saturday early morning.

Aurangabad:The Aurangabad unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested two talathis and a private person while allegedly accepting total bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant in Paithan taluka of the district.

The accused Dyneshwar Mahalkar(52) talathi of Sajja Ranjangaon and Devidas Banayit talathi of Sajja Mulani Wadagaon demanded Rs 70,000 as bribe from the complainant to allow him to run and not take action for his Haiva Truck across the villages in Paithan Taluka to carry out transpiration of sand and other mines materials through a private person namely Shivaji Ethape (40) .

However, the complainant lodged a complaint against them with the city unit of ACB, whose team laid a trap Friday night near Farola Tanda and caught them red-handed with the bribe money.

They accepted cash of Rs 40,000 and Rs 10,000 through Phonepay ,said ACB sources in their press statement issued on Saturday early morning.

A case under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at Bidkin police station against all the trios alleged accused.

Further investigation is underway, they added.
