PM busy in election, ignoring problems of stranded people in Ukraine: Kanhaiya

Addressing a youth conference at Gandhi memorial hall, Imphal here on Friday, on the issue of “Role of youth in politics” Kanhaiya Kumar said the democratic process will be strangulated if dialogue and discussions were encouraged.

Imphal: Kanhaiya Kumar, Congress spokesperson has criticized the government for its inability to help the Indians especially students stranded in Ukraine as conflicts between Russia and Ukraine flared up.

Kanhaiya said, “ Narendra Modi is always busy in election campaigns all the time”.

”More than 20,000 students are stuck in Ukraine and the entire administration is busy in the election process, he alleged. Decent dialogue, discussion were the fundamental things required in a democracy but it was not practised by the Prime Minister. PM only gives a scripted speech, ” he added.

Kanhaiya said PM Narendra Modi claimed of increasing the number of water connections in Manipur but on enquiring into the water crisis he came to know that there was water shortage and water was sold using water tankers in Manipur.

He said the water mafia was controlled by BJP and there was no water supply in the new pipes that were connected, he added. Economists have revealed that the government had been made bankrupt and the RBI has put a ban on the Manipur government on using money, Kanhaiya said.

He further said PM had announced the establishment of National Sports University but so far it has not yet materialized. The government has failed to provide all its promises made earlier, whether it be jobs or any issue, he said.

Forget about fulfilling the promise to double the income of farmers by 2022 farmers were dying while waiting to get fertilizers. He said, “We are fighting against a mafia which wants to grab power. It is using money to remain in power.”
