Imphal: The Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, Th Kirankumar, in an order issued on September 13, 2021, stated that parking shall be allowed only on the northern side of the road for RIMS Road (the road leading to RIMS from the Nagamapal junction) and only on the western side for Canteen Road (the road leading to RIMS from the Uripok junction).
No function or program of any kind will be allowed to be held by blocking partially or fully these two above mention roads. No earmarking of space in front of any establishment along these roads will be allowed leading to blocking and narrowing of the road and thereby affecting the traffic movement, the order further stated.
The order was passed in view of the heavy traffic congestion along these two roads leading to loss of precious time for ambulances, doctors, patient parties and other persons on emergency service on their way to various hospitals and clinics like RIMS, Shija Hospital, Sky Hospital, Imphal Hospital, Suba Hospital, Langol View Clinic among others.
The order will come into immediate effect from Wednesday, September 15, 2021, as per the order issued Monday.
