Imphal: A one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme on 100 crore Covid -19 vaccination was organized by the Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India at Waikhom Mani Girl’s College, Thoubal district on Monday.
Dr Aribam Ibomcha Sharma, Head of Office (ROB)addressing the gathering said that Thoubal district is the lowest in terms of Covid vaccination among the valley districts of the state. He urged every adult to take the Covid vaccine at Government Covid Vaccination Centre and observe Covid Appropriate Behaviour especially keeping in mind the festive season.
Speaking as a resource person, Dr Ksh Memcha Devi, District Family Welfare Officer, Thoubal district, who is also in-charge of Covid vaccination in the district, elaborated on the need to take Covid vaccination. Later, during the interactive season, she answered queries on vaccination sites, doubt and hesitancy benefits of vaccination among others.
N Joykumar Principal-in-charge, Waikhom Mani Girl’s college, Thoubal, who presided over the outreach programme, urged the students to reach out to friends, family members and relatives and encourage them to take the Covid vaccine.
As part of the outreach programme, a quiz competition and cultural shows were also staged, as per press release by the programme in-charge, Thokchom Anthony.   Â
