Operations of border haats, export points in East Khasi Hills District suspended

Shillong: In pursuance of the order of the Home (Political) Department and in order to safeguard the population at large from an uncontrollable surge in COVID-19 cases in East Khasi Hills District, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills has suspended operations of border haats and export points in the district till the 10th of May.

According to the order, weekly markets will not operate as usual but will be strictly regulated by the SDOs (C) and BDOs concerned to cater only to essential public requirements. BDOs will rope in Market Committees and COVID Management Committees to ensure awareness on COVID-19.

All COVID-19 preventive protocols of mask-wearing, social distancing and hand hygiene, etc should be strictly complied with by all concerned.
